BOARD REQUIREMENTS

• Passion for early childhood education and child development
• Expertise in education, advocacy, marketing, finance, legal, fundraising, board governance, human resources, administration, and/or organizational strategy with a willingness to share knowledge and skills with the organization
• Ability to commit an average of two hours of time and resources to the organization each month
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Board of Directors, Executive Director, other members of the United 4 Children team, and volunteers
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Willingness to learn about, understand and communicate the organization’s mission and goals

BOARD EXPECTATIONS

• Attend board meetings and actively participate in decision-making processes that guide the organization’s mission and goals
  • • Every Fourth Thursday of the month from 4-5:30 pm – Virtual Meetings
    • Quarterly strategic planning meetings, Thursdays from 5-7pm– In Person
• Bring time, talents, and treasures to assist in achieving the organization’s mission
• Provide strategic direction and support to the organization
• Represent the organization in the community and help build relationships with stakeholders in partnership with the Executive Director and U4C Staff
• Contribute to the financial support of the organization through personal contributions and fundraising efforts
• Commit to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and understand the importance of having a diverse Board
• Ensure the organization adheres to ethical and legal standards
• Join and participate in at least one committee – Committee commitments are based on committee needs
