United 4 Children Missouri Inclusion Specialist, NW/Central Region
Tara works as an Inclusion Specialist for families and childcare providers in Northwest and Central Missouri. Tara is passionate about United 4 Children’s work. She applied for her current role because she wants to be part of making sure that all children have the foundation to thrive regardless of race, zip code, or ability.
Let’s get to know Tara better:
Q: What’s your favorite part of your job?
A: My favorite part of my job is visiting classrooms and working with childcare providers to create inclusive environments for all children.
Q: What is something you wish more people knew about your role or U4C as a whole?
A: I wish more providers and parents knew that this resource existed. As a parent of a child with special needs, I was unaware of this resource a few months ago when I was looking for childcare. I wish I would have known about U4C then to help in our search for childcare. I am happy to be in a position now where I can help other parents and childcare providers find resources for the children they care for.
Q: How do you spend your free time outside of work?
A: Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my children (Luca 2, and Vayda 5 months). I like to bake, take pictures of my kids, and listen to podcasts. Recently, I have started collecting houseplants. To this point, they are all still alive, so I’m pretty proud of that.
Q: What is your favorite dessert?
