Overview: 

The Marketing Specialist is imperative to bolstering the agency’s brand, recruitment of those who need United 4 Children’s (U4C) services, telling U4C’s story, and creating a pipeline for community centric fundraising. They are responsible for the daily implementation of marketing strategies including, but not limited to, scheduling social media, creating marketing kits for all regions of Missouri, updating the U4C website, and creating digital and print materials.

Core Functions

Marketing 70%

  • Assist in execution of marketing plans to reach audiences through targeted channels
  • Assist with website maintenance, mainly updating a database of childcare capacity monthly, uploading blog content, and updating content across program pages as needed.
  • Manage the agency’s social media channels, utilizing U4C’s annual content calendar to create content and schedule posts.
  • Create and update marketing collateral to include flyers, one-pagers, and brochures.
  • Writing blog content using our team’s expertise that focuses on educating U4C’s various audiences of parents, community members, funders, early educators, and decision-makers.
  • Write and distribute email campaigns, including a monthly email newsletter to childcare providers.
  • Shoot photos to help highlight U4C’s services and team.
  • Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
  • Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand
  • Follow U4C’s established branding standards and a amend designs based on feedback.

Cross-Team Collaboration 20%

  • Work with Community Engagement Team when directed by the Marketing Manager to plan and administer community outreach.
  • Participate in weekly check-in meetings, strategic check-in meetings, project kick-off meetings – regarding stewardship, campaigns, events, communications, collateral (not grants), and ensure team goals are achieved when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Development and Programs Team to achieve goals including, but not limited to, client and staff recruitment, donor stewardship activities, creation of agency event calendar, marketing activities, and collateral which showcases the impact of U4C’s work.
  • Collaborate with each department and partner agencies to fulfill contracted marketing requirements.
  • Work with Marketing Manager to ensure department leaders have adequate information to market how U4C is assisting in fulfilling communities’ needs through partnerships, resources, and agency specific programming.

Administrative and Other Responsibilities 10%

  • Complete required agency reporting on time and accurately.
  • Actively participate in required meetings and in personal professional development.
  • Represent U4C at events both on-site and within the community.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, in communications, marketing, journalism, or a similar field 
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ proven experience in communications and marketing. 
  • Experience in non-profit marketing and communications preferred
  • Unwavering commitment to the mission of the agency 
  • Experience with WordPress a plus
