We are working to make sure that St. Louis area children (birth to age 5) receive the support they need to enter Kindergarten.

We firmly believe the way to do that is by comprehensively tracking a child’s development, connecting families to resources early, and providing parents with age-appropriate tips before the children step into a Kindergarten classroom.

The Ages and Stages Questionnaire-3 (ASQ-3)  and Ages and Stages Questionnaire: Social Emotional (ASQ:SE) are valuable tools that allow us to work toward that goal.

We are bringing child experts in the St. Louis Region together to build a hub that allows us to not only see a child’s development, but to also track developmental patterns that are unique to our region.

When parents and childcare providers track a child’s development together, we are better able to celebrate a child’s milestones, know what to look for next, and determine whether follow-up steps are needed.

Screenings are an essential first step toward identifying children who could use some extra support in the critical early years, before they start Kindergarten.
