Job Title: Census Specialist
Reports To: Program Director

SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Program Officer, coordinate and disseminate
quality information regarding the importance of the 2020 Cenus to early childhood programs and
their families in the St. Louis Region.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Communicate and help coordinate all agency activities involving the 2020 Census
 Represent the Agency in the community in a professional manner
 Attend Parent Café’s and Community Trainings to provide information about the 2020
Census
 Some sales/marketing tasks such as prospecting, cold calling, mailings and follow-up
 Provide reporting on accomplishments
 Provide data entry in a timely manner
 Some evening or weekend hours will be required
 Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
 Minimum of three years full time experience in a child care center
 Experience in coordinating meetings and providing customer service

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES PREFERRED
 Skilled in data entry and data base management
 Excellent organizational skills
 Detail oriented
 Communicate well with the public
 Strong multi-tasking skills
 Enjoy problem solving
Strong time/project management skills
 Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, follow through on
assignments and prioritize task completion
 Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
 Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 pounds
 Must possess a professional business and telephone demeanor

TRAVEL
 Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation as needed, and carry automobile
insurance with the required level ($300,000/$100,000) of liability insurance.

COMPENSATION
 Contractor will be paid a rate of $19.00 per hour with payments being on the 15 th of
every month. No state, local or federal taxes will be withheld. Contractor is not eligible
for benefits.
