Dear Changemakers,

Thank you for your generosity and support of United 4 Children’s programs. All children need advocates like us – and supporters like you – to ensure their future stability and growth.

In 2022, we celebrated our 10th birthday. St. Louis for Kids and the Child Day Care Association merged in 2012 to form United 4 Children. Both organizations were able to better achieve their shared goals when coming together as United 4 Children. We also moved our headquarters last year to the Delmar DivINe, an office space that brings dozens of social service agencies together under one roof. We have enjoyed being just down the hall from community partners and are constantly exploring additional ways to work collaboratively with our new neighbors.

Last year, we restructured our program staff to lean into what our team does best — allowing our team members to focus on one core area such as goal setting, coaching, and training. This has expanded the team of support we have to offer to each childcare program. For instance, Vivian Collins, owner and provider at Spring Garden Childcare Center, has been able to partner with our team to receive coaching, training, and our nutrition services.

“My experience working with United 4 Children has been nothing but great, awesome,” Vivian shared. “I’m the biggest fan of United 4 Children. If it wasn’t for them, I don’t believe I would have been accredited.”

You will see our United 4 Children team growing in the year ahead. The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Office of Childhood designated United 4 Children to serve as Missouri’s Early Care and Education Resource and Referral Network in 2023.

Additionally, the State of Missouri made one of its largest investments ever in early childhood professional development. We look forward to reporting more on this growth next year.

As we look at further growth in the future, we will continue to work to enhance opportunities for Missouri’s children by strengthening programs that would otherwise not have the resources to engage in quality improvements or meet quality standards.

Again, we thank all of our stakeholders for their continued support in ensuring all children thrive.

Gratefully,

Deanna Finch
