On July 14, 2016, United 4 Children’s 4th Annual Golf Tournament was another “hole-in-one” smashing success. We had 27 teams attend, the weather was fantastic, and everyone played “fair”. The magnificence of the Norman K. Probstein Golf Course in Forest Park made for an incomparable setting for fun, camaraderie and memorable moments. The golfers got off to a great start with lunch donated by Sugar Fire Smoke House, Bogart’s Smoke House and Domestic Diva Catering & More. The fun contest such as the “Hula”-in-One and the “Cannon 4 Kids” ballzooka, hosted by David Brinker at Mid America Golfing Events, allowed the golfers to aim high for the children. The golfers finished up just in time before the torrential downpour began. The golfers took cover and enjoyed dinner, provided by the golf course, while the winners of the hot raffle items and the tournament contests were announced.
Together with your support over $35,000 was raised (nearly $8,000 over our goal). Thank you for helping us make this year the most successful yet! These funds will help us fight against youth violence, educational inequities, nutritional inadequacies, and child neglect and abuse. It’s because of you that this is possible!
Special thanks to our Tournament Sponsors Slay Industries, Express Scripts, First Bank, Anders CPA & Advisors and Charah, and each of the 40 hole sponsors that supported us this year. We would also like to thank the staff at Norman K. Probstein Golf Club for their continued support for once again another extremely successful Golf Tournament. Thank you to the Golf Committee which includes Glen Slay, Mike Mueller, Jerry Schaefer, Dominick Lesinski, Dan Lesinski, Sara Klepper, Vince Reese, and Bob Derickson. Thank you to all the volunteers, staff and to every person that contributed to this event. Your support gives our children the best possible lives!

3rd Annual Golf Tournament
On Thursday, July 16th Probstein Golf Course was once again host for the 3rd Annual United 4 Children Golf Tournament presented by Slay Industries, Peabody Energy and Express Scripts. Other generous support was provided by First Bank, Charah and East Side River Transportation. Nearly 20 teams of golfers set out for this spectacular day which began with an amazing box lunch courtesy of Gamlin Whiskey House. People really enjoyed the handmade chips. On a shot gun start, the beautifully landscaped course provided some tough dog-leg right shots, however, all in all, teams played well. Throughout the day special hospitality carts provided players with snacks and our own unique beverages along with cigars. A wild challenge on the course was DRIVING your ball into the hole using a remote control dump truck! Players also got to bid on exciting silent auction items. United 4 Children raised $24,000 from this event which will allow us to continue to improve the social, emotional, physical, and educational well being of our children by enriching the knowledge of families, teachers, and caregivers. Special thanks to our Board of Directors, volunteers and staff for making the day special. Thanks also to the Golf Committee which included: Glen Slay, Mike Mueller, Dominick Lesinski and Jerry Schaefer. Patti Short our Event Director pulled the tournament together in expert fashion.
